Biblical Ephesus Shore Excursion From Kusadasi Port 2

Starting
70€

You will be picked up from Kusadasi port in the morning. The first stop is Ephesus Ancient City. Ephesus is one of the most impressive ancient cities in the world. It was a harbor city and it was the second-largest city in Roman Empire over 200.000 people. We also visit the Library of Celcius, Harbour Street, Hadrian Gate, Grand Theater, and Odeon.

Terraced Houses are located on the hill, opposite the Hadrian Temple. They are also called “the houses of the rich”. They are important for the reason that they give us an idea about family life during the Roman period. They were built according to the Hippodamian plan of the city in which roads transected each other of right angles.

House of Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus, spent the final days of her life here. She was alleged to come here and live there. Paul VI was the first Pope to visit this place in the 1960s.

St. Jean Basilica was a basilica in Ephesus. It was constructed by Justinian I in the 6th Century. It stands over the believed burial site of John the Apostle. It was modeled after the last church of the Holy Apostles in Constantinople.

At the end of the tour, you go back to Kusadasi port.
